Special Purpose Alloys and Metals from Stock Testimonials

ED FAGAN INC. Goes the Extra Mile (or 147 miles) for our Customers Monday, February 20, 2006, Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, EFI received a 911 call from a castings manufacturer serving the aerospace, biomedical, automotive, power generation, and other specialized industries. Up against a deadline, they desperately needed six ¼”x2”x52” molybdenum rails to hold the baskets in their vacuum heat treating furnaces. EFI’s deep inventory included the necessary molybdenum plate (¼”x12”x72”) from which the rails could be cut; however they required specialty cutting on a water jet cutter. Scott Williams, Account Manager, put the plates in his car, drove the 147 miles to the cutter, and waited while the plates were cut. The rails were delivered to our customer Tuesday morning, less than 24 hours after the call came in. EFI offers technical assistance. We suggested to this manufacturer that Moly TZM, an alloy with a higher heat tolerance than molybdenum, might be an even better solution for the furnaces which reach 1300o C, the upper limit for molybdenum. TZM remains stable and functional to temperatures of 1650 o C. The customer is now testing both products to determine which one is most cost-effective. ED FAGAN INC. is a U.S. based, family owned business that for over forty years has been solving the specialty metal and alloy material needs of the heat treating, aerospace, telecom, optics, electronic, and many other industries with exacting specifications. We are the supplier of choice, offering the highest quality materials, an unsurpassed depth of inventory, and superior customer service. We stock the material so you don’t have to. And if we do not have it in stock, we will get it for you.
