Molybdenum TZM (TZM) is an alloy of that contains 99% molybdenum, 0.50% titanium, 0.08% zirconium and a trace 0.02% carbon for carbide formations. TZM is manufactured by the “pressed and sintered process” and is of great utility due to its high strength in high temperature applications above 2000°F.
Molybdenum TZM has a higher recrystallization temperature, higher strength, hardness and good ductility at room and elevated temperatures than unalloyed molybdenum. In addition, TZM exhibits good thermal conductivity, low vapor pressure, good corrosion resistance and is machinable.
