Ed Fagan Inc. is your leading source when Tungsten Alloys are required for your applications. Since 1965, we have supplied our high-quality specialty alloys, skilled services, competitive pricing and on-time delivery to our customers worldwide.
Tungsten has the highest melting point of all metals (6180°F/3420°C) and casting Tungsten Alloy components or parts is not possible. Tungsten Alloys are produced by powder metallurgy techniques which has size limitations. Therefore, it is significant to recognize that the fabrication process for Tungsten Alloys does not lend itself to the manufacture of standard size forms (such as plate, sheet, rod/bar, etc.), as with other alloys.
Despite these facts, there are substantial advantages to small batch quantities or single pieces that can be manufactured cost effectively. In certain cases, it is more economical and efficient to produce a series of smaller parts instead of one large part. These smaller parts can then be assembled into a larger unit by press fitting, mechanical fastening, brazing, etc.
